Looking for places to hang out with friends in Hyderabad or socialize with your colleagues?

It’s Friday evening, and you’re still not sure where to have the weekend meetup with your mates?

Don’t worry; we got you!

Here are the 10 most happening hangout places in Hyderabad for friends and coworkers.

10 Best Places to Hangout in Hyderabad with Friends

From cafes and bars to gardens, lakes and a film city…we certainly have a lot of places where you can plan your next weekend hangout!

If you are looking for chillout places this weekend, here are some Hyderabad weekend activities.

Drunken Monkey

A refreshing strawberry smoothie garnished with mint, placed on a dark table, evoking a chill vibe perfect for family outings.

Yeah, we started with a bang, didn’t we? Sometimes things and life get so cray-cray-craazy, ‘drunken monkey’ mode seems to be THE way to go.

Get high as you create your own combo of the juices and smoothies on their menu, eat through the various foods, and tinker around with the games.

The atmosphere is fairly laid-back, and a great place for you to relax with your friends.

If you’re health-conscious, double high five as their offerings are health-focused, with foods being available under categories such as ‘detox’ and ‘indulgence’.

Please note they ARE part of a chain and have 15+ locations in Hyderabad.

10 Downing Street, Begumpet

A stylish bar setting ideal for gathering groups, featuring a vibrant atmosphere for team building, mystery games, and corporate events.

How do you spot a nerd? Ask them if they know what 10 Downing Street is, and if they answer ‘the official residence of the UK Prime Minister’, they’re a nerd.

For as we know, 10 Downing Street is one of the best spots to hang out with friends and coworkers, as far as Hyderabad is concerned.

As you’d expect, this place maintains a retro vibe with wooden furniture, high stools and colonial-era artwork in the style of old-world English pubs.

They have a large English-inspired menu (with items such as fish and chips and Shepherd’s Pie) in addition to Continental and Indian cuisine, making it one of the best places to chill in Hyderabad.

And they have different themes on different nights, like Vintage, Rock, Desi, Ladies’ Special and so on.

Tip: If you’re visiting for the first time, go for their combos. That will give you a taste of multiple dishes.

Hard Rock Cafe

You were wondering about this one, right? Hard Rock Cafe is just one of those Hyderabad hangout places. Belongs to any ‘most happening’ or ‘best hangout’ type lists for any city where it’s present.

Very well known for its live music, happy hours, funky decor, and American-styled menu, Hard Rock Cafe in Banjara Hills is a great answer to the question ‘where are we hanging out this weekend?’

The portion sizes are reasonably large. The staff are professional and courteous. The music and the memorabilia are awesome. And the happy hours….well….will make you ‘staggeringly happy’.

Tip: Try their burgers and mashed potatoes when you visit.

LockNEscape Escape Rooms (that’s us!)

Group celebrating a successful escape in a vibrant escape room at LockNEscape, the highest rated venue in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

While cafes and bars are indeed great places to meet up with mates, if you’re looking for a little more active and mentally engaging hangout haunt in Hyderabad, LockNEscape, a mystery escape room, is where you should be. Yes, I just talked about ourselves in the third person.

Here’s what makes us different: most escape rooms only offer you the escape room game itself, plus MAYBE a little time to hang around in the lounge.

Here at Lock N Escape, on the other hand, you can hang out at our on-site cafe,…

Nibbling on savoury and sweet dishes (like pesto pizza and chimney cakes), sipping on delicious beverages (like cardamom cappuccino), and…

Checking out the various board games, and having friendly contests.

Never heard of an escape room? Here’s the short intro:

You and your friends are locked in a themed room for 80 minutes. You have to solve puzzles, accomplish tasks, and spot clues to proceed as you try to find your way out of the room.

No, it’s not just your typical hangout spot with beer and grub – it’s so much more! Discover for yourself why we’re one of the best places in Hyderabad to hang out with friends.

Hyderabad Botanical Gardens

Had enough of the indoors? Looking to hang out with colleagues and friends in the great outdoors, among flora and fauna?

Then there’s a place near the Hi-tech City that you should check out: the Hyderabad Botanical Gardens, better known as the Shri Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy Botanical Garden.

Here’s the first thing to know about the place: it’s located inside a reserve forest – the Kothaguda Reserve Forest. I think you’ve guessed that this really will be a completely different experience.

Spread out over 120 acres and divided into 19 sectors. Each sector contains bamboos, fruit plants, ornamental plants and medicinal plants. You can also spot several birds and insects here.

While we’re on the topic of the great outdoors, there are several awesome outdoors attractions if you’re looking for a longer weekend getaway with family, friends and colleagues near Hyderabad.

Hussain Sagar Lake

One of the largest man-made lakes in India, Hussain Sagar Lake connects Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

There is a gigantic, exquisitely carved statue of Lord Buddha in the middle of the lake, on Gibraltar Rock.

There’s a 3 km long dam across the lake known as the Tank Bund, plus 3 landscaped parks – Lumbini Park, Indira Park and Sanjeevaiah Park – nearby.

You have opportunities for several activities at Hussain Sagar, including sailing, yachting, boating, jet-skiing and parasailing.

Ramoji Film City

Scenic view of a themed set resembling a Western town, ideal for adventure games; promotes immersive experiences and group activities.

What makes Ramoji Film City a great place to hang out with colleagues and mates in Hyderabad?

The fact that at 2000 acres, it’s one of the largest film cities in the world? Nah, that’s just a statistic.

It’s the fact that you’ll just be amazed at what you will find inside!

From ancient palaces (a film set) to a real Japanese garden and even underground caves. And that’s just for starters.

And then there are the rides, like like Breakdance, Superjet and Twister; and the shows like the Wild West Stunt Show.

Tip: Make sure you visit their butterfly and bird park, where you can spot (among other things) our national bird – peacocks!

Snow World

If you haven’t guessed it by now, Snow World is a snow-based amusement park…said to be one of the largest of its kind in the world.

They have an interesting approach to introduce people to snowy temperatures – you have to pass through a number of steps, beginning with the pleasantly cool 20 degrees Celsius and going downward till you’re in the subzero Cryo Zone.

You also get jackets, gloves, boots and so on to protect you against the cold.

And there are games and activities that you can try your hands at, like Snow Basketball, Snow Tunnel, Snow Bumper Cars and so on.

Necklace Road

OK, selecting a road as a ‘place to hang out’ might sound weird, but bear with me for a minute.

The fact is that Necklace Road connects 3 major parks – Lumbini Park, NTR Gardens and Sanjeevaiah Park. Plus there are a number of restaurants and eateries for refreshments and meals, plus open green spaces to relax.

That’s what makes Necklace Road a great place to hang out in Hyderabad.

Olive Bistro & Bar

Outdoor dining area at AZTEC Towers, featuring tables with blue accents, floral centerpieces, and a scenic backdrop for team building and celebrations.

The final hangout destination in Hyderabad on our list is Olive Bistro & Bar at Durgam Cheruvu in Jubilee Hills.

What truly sets it apart is the stunning view of Durgam Cheruvu (the ‘Secret Lake’) and the spectacular Mediterranean food (it also serves Continental cuisine).

Tip: Make sure you try their pita, hummus, and apple cider.
